Pacquiao vs. Mayweather 2014 Fight Purse Revealed; How Much Will they Earn in Mega Bout?

As talks of a mega-fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao continue to circulate, fans are asking how much will each fighter take home.

Such a fight will expectedly be the biggest ever in boxing history. In a report by Inside Fights, such a fight might earn somewhere in the range of $300 million.

Bob Arum of Top Rank Promotions remained positive that a fight between the American and Filipino will take place even though Mayweather expressed that he will never deal with Top Rank.

Arum said, "On our side the answer is yes, we're very open to it. There are ways it can get done, they have to dumb down the rhetoric, we are prepared to dumb down the rhetoric and get it done." He added, "There is no real impediment to having that fight happen whether it will or not depends completely on the Mayweather side. I can see it happening but I can't predict that it will happen because it takes two to tango."

A prince and promoter from the United Arab Emirates also shared that he can make the super bout happen between the two, saying that he understands both camps and that he can make the fight happen in Dubai.

In a report by International Business Times, the purse of both fighters will be at least $50 million each. Experts also said that the fight should happen in two years maximum, considering that Pacquiao and Mayweather are already aging.

Mayweather continues to increase his bankability with every fight. Pacquiao's pay-per-views, however, are dropping especially after his defeats against Tim Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez. Mayweather said that the only way that a fight can happen between them is if the Filipino leaves Arum and Top Rank.

Arum suggested that the multi-million-dollar match can be postponed to 2016 after Mayweather's contract with Showtime expires in 2015. Pacquiao's fights are shown on HBO while Mayweather's fights are shown on Showtime. However, both networks may come to an agreement to present the "fight of the century" in the same way that the Lewis-Tyson fight was shown.

For several years, the Pacquiao and Mayweather camps have failed to reach an agreement especially in terms of splitting the revenues of the fight. According to Bleacher Report, in 2012, Pacquiao was offered by Mayweather $40 million guaranteed, without any share from pay-per-views and other sources of income. The Filipino declined, saying that he should at least earn $50 million if they were to split the earnings 50/50.
