Floyd Mayweather is one of the most controversial athletes of all time, which is also the reason why he has the biggest payouts in all his matches. Recently, he passively insulted UFC women's champion Ronda Rousey by saying he does not know her.

On July 15, 2014, Mayweather was in Washington, D.C. to promote his rematch against Marcos Maidana in September. Bob Velin of USA Today asked the boxing champ about his thoughts on possibly fighting Rousey.

According to Bleacher Report, UFC president Dana White said that the undefeated Ronda Rousey would "hurt [Floyd] bad" in a mixed martial arts fight. Rousey also agreed that she would easily take advantage of the best pound-for-pound boxer in the Octagon. In March 2014, Ronda Rousey said that she could hold her own against Mayweather in an MMA or street fight and would prefer to stay low on the ground. Dana White said, "Ronda wins that fight and hurts him badly."

Mayweather, however, responded with a one-liner, "I don't know who he is."

Someone even went the extra mile to explain to Mayweather that Rousey is an undefeated women's champ in the UFC. Mayweather put his hands up and again said, "I ain't know who that is."

Fans and sports experts always try to imagine pitting top fighters against each other, regardless of whether they have the same sex or not. It is nearly impossible to have Mayweather face Manny Pacquiao so the odds would have be smaller in making a fight happen between the American boxer and an MMA fighter.

It was not the first time that Floyd Mayweather insulted an MMA champion in the same manner. In July 2013, Mayweather also mentioned that he did not know who Anderson Silva was. Although someone also explained that Silva was the best pound-for-pound MMA fighter in the history of the sport, Mayweather conceded that he did not know the guy. Silva fumed over the boxer's response and a verbal war raged thereafter.

The UFC president, however, admitted that Ronda would not stand a chance against Mayweather in the boxing ring. In a report by MMA Junkie, White said, "You take a street fight, Ronda wins that fight and hurts him badly. You do an MMA fight, same result. Boxing match, Floyd Mayweather chew her up."

Being the biggest star in boxing, Mayweather generally has the advantage of dismissing potential attackers by saying they are not worth his time.
