Adam Levine's recent admission of his "awkward" proposal proves two things: that fiancee Behati Prinsloo is indeed a goddess for earning a two-knee proposal, and that even the Sexiest Man Alive can get the jitters when it comes to matters closest to his heart.
According to The Daily Mail, "The Voice" coach Adam confessed on "Live With Kelly & Michael" that he wasn't really his usual cool, calm, and collected self when he popped the big question to his model girlfriend.
"Doesn't matter how certain you think you are. You still get down on that knee and you just get woozy and you're like, 'I'm doing this. Oh my God.' And you can't be confident about it. It's impossible," the 35-year-old singer said. "I'm a confident person, but I got down on that knee and everything changed immediately. I lost my equilibrium. I had to get on the other one."
Oh. So THAT'S why he went down on both knees!
The rocker then continued sharing his proposal experience.
"But the one thing that I will say is that I did say at one point, 'Both knees. Like look, I got on both knees.' And it didn't sound charming at all," he said. "Both knees and she was like, 'What?'"
Adam may find this memory still embarassing now, but years onward, he may find himself chuckling over the whole experience.
The "Moves Like Jagger" singer's revelation came nearly a year after Behati herself shared the happy news of their engagement, as noted by Us Weekly.
"I am so happy and excited and still can't believe it's true!" she told the publication. She also said that his proposal was serious and "very old school." Awww!
A week ago, the Maroon 5 frontman revealed during an interview with Ryan Seacrest that he had asked permission to marry the 25-year-old from her own dad.
"'I don't want to talk about it - you know how I am - but yes, of course I did. I had to. And it was extremely nerve-wracking," he said.
We think many grooms and would-be-grooms will agree with you on that, Adam!
The pair will tie the knot on July 19 in Los, Cabos Mexico, after an on-and-off relationship that spanned 2 years.
"It was previously reported the couple were planning a vacation to South Africa, near Behati's homeland, after their wedding so they could 'celebrate with people who can't make the trip' to Mexico," The Daily Mail added.
