Pitch Perfect fans just can't get enough of the a capella tunes that they can dance to, and with the sequel confirmed and casting announced, it's time to hit back with the "Pitch Perfect" fever, because despite the fact that you can't dance your way through any social issue, you can sing to the catchy tunes (and laugh at the one-line zingers) that made the film a better version of "Glee".
So before you obsess over the second installment of Anna Kendrick's better-than-expected voice chops, here is a review of the top 5 performances in the original "Pitch Perfect":
1) Titanium - Brittany Snow and Anna Kendrick are two gorgeous ladies belting it out stark naked in the shower. True, there is nothing there to see (because of censorship) but a bathroom scene with these girls are hot, no matter what.
2) Since You've Been Gone - Kelly Clarkson's song is awesome as it is, but with an amazing montage to go with it (despite the less-than-perfect performers ) it's a crowd favorite as far as Pitch Perfect performances went.
3) The Riff-off - Let's face it, the continuation game is great, but with voice chops like the cast, it's just better. Besides, who knew Anna Kendrick can rap like that? Even the boys looked surprised.
4) Bright Lights / I've Got the Magic in Me Mash-Up - the Treblemakers' song during the finals made the audience fall more in love with them than ever, and who can blame them with the adorable Skylar Astin smiling his boyish smile like that? And his singing is not something you can throw as just one of those things, either. Also, it's always nice to see the underdog take center stage during one of the biggest nights in every a capella group's year.
5) Price Tag / Don't You (Forget About Me) / Give Me Mashup - For the first time since the Barton Bellas joined the a capella contest, they weren't singing fluff pieces, and seriously, what can be more iconic that "The Breakfast Club" theme song, considering what it meant for Beca and Jesse?
In other "Pitch Perfect" News, Deadline reported that Skylar Astin will reprise his role as Jesse, together with Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow, and Adam DeVine. The same site also reported in a later article that German YouTube sensation, Flula Borg, will add new flavor to the cast, most probably as part of the competing a capella team.
Pitch Perfect 2 will premiere on the big screen on May 15th, 2015.
