"Godzilla" has already finished rampaging its way through cinemas in the past couple of weeks, and now we're fixated, more than ever, on obsessing over the next monster flick - "Jurassic World."
In the last few months, a number of spoilers and rumors have given us clues on what the plot may be like and what kind of creatures to expect in the upcoming installment. Recently, a new "leak" has made its rounds among "Jurassic Park" fans on the Internet and have got the rest of us thinking whether this is indeed real or fake.
"An image purported as being that of the new dinosaur villain in the movie was doing the rounds online," EnStars said. "Jurassic World News France revealed the image but a new report suggests it is fake."
That's not surprising - a number of other spoilers have been revealed to be fake in the past.
The photo described by EnStars shows a creature called "D-Rex," which has been "described previously as the 'monstrous' new dinosaur that is the result of DNA splicing," according to The Epoch Times. "That splicing, prompted by executives at the dinosaur theme park at Isla Nublar trying to create bigger and better creatures, starts the trouble in the film."
However, director Colin Trevorrow, in an interview with SlashFilm, clarified that the said spoiler is quite far from the truth.
"Yes, there will be one new dinosaur created by the park's geneticists. The gaps in her sequence were filled with DNA from other species, much like the genome in the first film was completed with frog DNA," the director explained.
"I know the idea of a modified dinosaur put a lot of fans on red alert, and I understand it. But we aren't doing anything here that Crichton didn't suggest in his novels," he continued. "This animal is not a mutant freak. It doesn't have a snake's head or octopus tentacles. It's a dinosaur, created in the same way the others were, but now the genetics have gone to the next level. For me, it's a natural evolution of the technology introduced in the first film. Maybe it sounds crazy, but most of my favorite movies sound crazy when you describe them in a single sentence."
There you have it - from the horse's mouth himself. "Jurassic World" will hit theaters on June 12, 2015.
