Jay Z Solange Fight Reason Revealed; Attack Caused by Rihanna? [Rumors]

The video of Beyonce's sister Solange hitting music mogul and hip-hop artist Jay-Z has gone viral, headlining entertainment columns in virtually all news publications, sparking speculations and analyses into the relationships of those involved.

One of the big questions involving the incident is about the reason Bey's little sister hit her brother-in-law so violently. Could it be jealousy? Is it a consequence of drug dependency? Is it part of a psychological issue?

And now, it appears that the answers to this question have emerged, and one of them reportedly involved Rihanna.

"The dispute that prompted Beyoncé's sister to attack Jay Z at a Manhattan hotel centered on the rapper's wish to keep the party going at a shindig hosted by RiRi," the New York Daily News revealed. "Tensions were already running high when Jay Z - while walking to the now-infamous Standard Hotel elevator - said he was going to the Rihanna bash rather than heading home with Beyoncé."

According to the online publication, a "drunken" Solange reportedly asked, "Why can't you go home?"

A source said that the 27-year-old artist also asked her sister: "Why does your husband need to go to the club right now?"

At this, Jay-Z reportedly shot back with, "You're the one to talk."

His retort allegedly "sent Solange into a violent rage."

"She attacked Jay Z with a series of furious kicks and punches in a three-minute outburst that was caught on surveillance video and leaked Monday," the entertainment news source said.

Rihanna has been signed to the rapper's Roc Nation label and is considered a good friend of the music industry's power couple, aside from being a protege of sorts.

The "bad vibes" between Jay-Z and Solange began 15 minutes before the trio boarded the elevator.

"Two of her friends, who were not dressed for the Met ball, showed up at the Standard and caused a scene downstairs," a source told the New York Daily News. "They wouldn't leave and kept name-dropping Jay Z. They were pretending they were guests of his and not hers. Management went to Julius (Beyoncé's bodyguard) and said there's a problem."

When Jay-Z learned of this, he "snapped" at Solange and told her not to use his name.

"Solange said she wanted to leave the party. Jay Z agreed to go but said he was going to head to Up & Down on W. 14th St., where Rihanna was holding her own post-Met Gala bash," the Daily News quoted another source as saying.

On knowing that her sister won't be going with Jay-Z, she "flipped her lid" and hit at the unresisting artist once in the elevator.

Another report also said that Solange "harbors resentment" toward her famous brother-in-law over his lack of involvement in her career.
