If they're still together, why don't we see much of this couple actually hanging out together? Or do they have the same "no pictures together" pact like what Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin used to have?

The Daily Mail reported that actor Ryan Gosling, during a red carpet appearance at the San Francisco premiere of his new film, wore a silver necklace with a pendant bearing girlfriend Eva Mendes' dog's name.

Well, perhaps he's on good terms with the dog, but not with the pooch's owner?

"The couple has not been photographed together since November which has created speculation as to whether they are on or off," the British entertainment news source noted. "But he's pretty clever at dropping hints about the gorgeous 40-year-old actress. While standing on the carpet for the San Francisco premiere of his new movie White Shadow, the 33-year-old actor was showing off a silver necklace that had on it a pendant stamped with the name of his girlfriend's dog, Hugo."

Us Weekly said that Ryan and Eva were seen "numerous times" walking their beloved pet, a Belgian Mallinois, around Los Angeles.

Adding to the suggestion that the couple are still together is Ryan's "good spirits" during the outing, smiling about during the said event.

"The couple, who first stepped out together in September 2011, have rarely been seen out together in the past 5 months. (Gosling was last photographed at the 40-year-old actress' house back in February.)," the American publication observed.

The fact that Eva will be appearing in Gosling's directorial debut "Lost River" is telling -- it does encourage the fact that the two are still very much a couple.

Although Ryan does not appear in "White Shadow," he executive produced the said flick with Hamisis Bazili, who also stars in the film.

Ryan will be seen next in a Terrence Malick film, with Natalie Portman and Christian Bale as his co-stars.
