News has been circulating about real estate mogul Donald Trump planning to acquire the Buffalo Bills.

Years ago, Trump gained an ill reputation for trying to compete and ruin the National Football League (NFL) by creating the now-defunct USFL. The billionaire used to own the New Jersey Generals of the said league. Allegedly, Trump failed to acquire an NFL team, which led him to attempt to merge the USFL and NFL to add his team.

Now, according to ESPN, Trump was approached by a group interested in purchasing the Buffalo Bills, asking if he was willing to invest in the team. Trump replied that he would consider the offer and wished for the Bills to remain in Buffalo, after owner Ralph Wilson's death on March 25, 2014.

Trump said, "I'll take a look at it." He added, "It would be catastrophic, in my opinion, if Buffalo lost the Buffalo Bills." according to a report by TMZ

Many sports critics and business experts are skeptical that Donald Trump would truly buy and acquire the Buffalo Bills. According to a report by SB Nation, Trump as always, is only craving for attention, the same way he created a spectacle of himself in politics, the World Wrestling Entertainment and on Twitter. The Entrepreneur-star is more inclined towards golf than football and may only be looking into the idea, considering how it might gain him more fans and attention in the process.

A report by Yahoo! Sports presented that the group that approached Trump may be seeking the billionaire's celebrity status and ability to hype up marketing, which in turn will be good for the Buffalo Bills' publicity. Trump's interest level has to be determined first and should he be interested, it is not likely that he would agree to only being a minority investor. Finally, to own an NFL team, the NFL has to approve Trump first. After his debacles with the NFL which led to the destruction of the USFL, it is very unlikely that the NFL would change its mind in approving Trump.
