As news about power couple Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow sink in, new Hollywood reports have said that the Coldplay vocalist has been cheating on his wife by striking up a conspicuous friendship with television host and fashionista Alexa Chung.
The 37-year-old musician was spotted having some early-morning milkshakes with the British beauty in June last year, way before the couple have announced their separation. Daily Mail obtained the news through Jessica Goldsack, who told the tabloid with several selfies of the two that she served the odd pair.
She told Daily Mail, "They looked like they were just chilling and having a good time. I did find it a little odd that they were together -- but we had a little chat and they wandered off after they asked us if we knew of any good places to go and have a few drinks. They were having a laugh together, but it didn't seem that anything was going on."
It is worth noting that Paltrow is a notorious health enthusiast, who, with her website Goop, dispenses advise about eating healthy and how she applies her views on eating right at home.
If there was a budding romance between Martin and Chung, it wouldn't be that surprising in the music circles considering the fashionista's last boyfriend was Artic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner, Daily Mail said.
On the other hand, Slate says that although much of the talk is on Chris and Gwyneth's strained relationship leading to the separation, the looming divorce could also be much more civil and friendly. Citing a Los Angeles Times report, Slate said the $14 million Malibu home will now be the singer-songwriter's supposed bachelor pad following the split.
Moreover, the couple are both well-off based on Forbes' 100 highest-earning celebrities, with E! Online saying the couple are worth a combined $280 million. US Weekly also said in the report that the former couple seemed to have prepared themselves for the public reaction as well, as the two jetted off with their two children to the Bahamas for a post-split vacation.
