It's a known fact that students can be punished with bad behavior, but it seems that a Belgian Math teacher found a way to make his students keep mum in class, with a threat greater than spending an afternoon in detention: death threats.

At least the threat of revealing the deaths to follow the popular HBO series, 'Game of Thrones.'

It was apparently more effective than sending kids to detention. According to The NY Daily, several of the teacher's 70 students posted on Facebook about the unique punishment. According to them, their instructor asked the class how many of them were fans of the series, and when the majority raised their hands, he responded with a threat that nobody took seriously at first.

The instructor said, "I have read all the books and from now on when there is too much noise I will write the name of the next death."

None of the troublemakers took the threat seriously, but they regretted it soon enough when the instructor then proceeded on writing character names on the board, making good on his promise. He added, "If there is too much noise, I will write the name of the dead on the board. They are enough to fill the whole year, and I can even describe how they die."

One of the students shared, I can tell you there was a religious silence during the last lesson."

The instructor's methods may not be traditional, but it was very effective for his math class.

For fans who have not yet read the books, finding out about a death before it actually happens is about as traumatizing as it can get. Who do you think will meet his or her demise in the upcoming season?

"Game of Thrones" will be back on the small screen beginning April 6th for its fourth season premiere.
