Apparently, Tommy Hilfiger is an immense fan of the famous footballer as he himself crowned Becks as the "underwear model of the century."
The entertainment source noted that the label is an odd one - because Victoria Beckham's hunky husband has never even modeled for the said designer, ever. As a matter of fact, he fronted for rival brands H&M and Armani.
"I mean, we all wish we look like David Beckham at the end of the day. He's like the Underwear Model of the Century!" the designer gushed, according to E! News.
We wonder: Is this Hilfiger's way of telling Beckham he wants the retired athlete to wear his creations on his next campaign?
TMZ, in sarcastic fashion, also pointed out that Hilfiger's declaration meant that his previous picks, such as Mark Wahlberg, Mehcad Brooks, and Antonio Sabato Jr., "didn't measure up" to his standards. Which prompts the question: Why didn't he get the supremely fit father of four to model for him then?
Speculations aside, it is difficult not to see why Beckham is the alpha dog in the underwear modeling crowd. Even his own wife, who understandably has seen him at his drabbest and most domestic, is in awe of his hotness.
"I just think he's so g***amn perfect that people have to find something wrong with him," she told Marie Claire in 2010, Access Hollywood noted. "He just naturally looks good all the time. He never looks like sh** in the morning. Never. So he's sitting there sending his e-mails, all ripped. Not an ounce of fat on him. And I thought, 'You done good, girl.'"
