The Academy Awards is looking to be one of the most glamorous awards shows of the season with all four of last year's acting Oscar winners set to present.
The Academy announced that Christoph Waltz ("Inglorious Basterds," "Django Unchained") would be a presenter at the ceremony as well as Daniel Day-Lewis ("Lincoln," "My Left Foot," "There Will Be Bloiod,") Jennifer Lawrence ("Silver Linings Playbook," "American Hustle"), and Anne Hathaway ("Les Miserables," "Rachel Getting Married"). The news comes as no surprise. It's become an Academy Awards tradition for the four acting winners of the previous year to present the trophies in those categories.
The announcement of all four presenters is the second time in a row that the previous acting winners reunite for the Academy Awards. A number of times the winners have not made apperances at the Oscars due to previous commitments with film projects.
The ceremony will also see performances by all four song nominees. U2 will perform the Oscar nominated song "Ordinary Love" from "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom" while Karen O. will sing "The Moon Song" from "Her." Idina Mnzel will sing "Let it Go" from "Frozen" while Pharrell Williams will prform "Happy" from "Despicable Me 2."
The Academy also announced that Bette Midler ("Hocus Pocus") will perform but it is unknown what she will be doing. The performance will mark her first time singing on the show after previous appearances as a presenter.
Meanwhile, the "Red Carpet Live" segment will be hosted by "Good Morning America" anchors Robin Roberts and Lara Spencer, and Jess Cagle, editor of People and editorial director of Entertainment Weekly. They will be joined by by actor Tyson Beckford. The "Red Carpet Live" will be produced by Brad Lachman and Michael Seligman will serve as supervising producer and Bill Bracken as coordinating producer. Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, producers of the Oscars telecast, will be the pre-show's executive producers.
The ceremony will also have a number of personalities expected to show up on the red carpet including nominees Amy Adams ("American Hustle"), Lupita Nyong'o ("12 Years a Slave"), Cate Blanchett ("Blue Jamsine"), Julia Roberts ("August: Osage County"), Meryl Streep ("August: Osage County"), and Sandra Bullock ("Gravity"). Christian Bale ("American Hustle"), Leonardo DiCaprio ("The Wolf of Wall Street"), Matthew McConaughey ("Dallas Buyers Club"), Jared Leto ("Dallas Buyers Club"), Michael Fassbender ("12 Years a Slave"), Chiwetel Ejiofor ("12 Years a Slave"), and Bradley Cooper ("American Hustle") are also expected to show up at the awards.
The awards ceremony will also have a tribute to "The Wizard of Oz" and will also pay tribute to the diseased industry leaders of Hollywood. The Academy has yet to announce the full list of presenters but more news on the ceremony is expected next week.
The Academy Awards will be hosted by TV presenter Ellen DeGeneres and will be held on March 2 at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center. The ceremony will be televised live on ABC and in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.
