"As a kid, Godzilla was my creature of choice, oh yeah. I loved the absolute destructive nature of this beast," said "Breaking Bad" star Bryan Cranston about his upcoming project, the 2014 adaptation of Godzilla.
In an interview with ET Canada, Cranston said, "They're taking a very restrained approach to this. Much like 'Jaws' did, Steven Spielburg didn't always show the beast. His essence is present and it's there ... and it's creepy. So you know the tension will mount."
Cranston was not the only one who shared his thoughts. Aaron Taylor-Johnson said, "It was a physically demanding role. I'm in helicopters. We're on trucks and trains and we're moving giant missiles... Things are crashing around us. You're getting close to death. There's a lot of stuff that's made it really active."
One of the most anticipated films of the year, Screencrush reports that the film will star Cranston, Taylor-Johnson, and Elizabeth Olsen.
An official film synopsis has been released, and in a copy printed by Screencrush, the synopsis read:
"An epic rebirth to Toho's iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world's most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity's scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence. Gareth Edwards directs Godzilla, which stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, and Juliette Binoche, with David Strathairn and Bryan Cranston. The screenplay is by Max Borenstein, Frank Darabont, and Dave Callaham. Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni are producing with Mary Parent and Brian Rogers. Alex Garcia and Patricia Whitcher are the executive producers, alongside Yoshimitsu Banno and Kenji Okuhira. The film is from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures."
A few days before film released, a comic book, titled "Awakening" will also debut for the fans to divulge themselves in.
A book description was also released by Screenrant, stating:
"Delve into an incredible mystery, generations in the making. At the dawn of the atomic age, humanity awakens lifeforms beyond imagination, unleashing monumental forces of nature. This explosive, larger-than-life adventure is the perfect way for fans to experience the new Godzilla before seeing it in theaters."
