Hurricane Isaac isn't stopping the Republicans from appointing Mitt Romney as their presidential candidate this week as the Republican National Convention (RNC) gets underway this week.

After opening for 10-minutes with an introduction by the Republican National Committee's chair Reince Priebus and then adjourning for the day due to weather conditions.

The delay now pushes RNC organizers to reschedule and cram Monday's scheduled events onto Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Highlighting today's RNC events are the speeches scheduled during primetime with Mitt Romney's wife Ann Romney and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

The use of Ann has been considered as an opportunity to "humanize" Mitt who has been seen as "stiff," "cold," and lacking personality.

"She will step back from her stump speech and outline the tenets of Mitt Romney's life," said Katie Packer Gage, Romney's deputy campaign manager, according to Politico. "It will be a bigger, broader speech that will go back to Mitt's earlier life, the values his parents gave him, his life as a successful businessman, as head of the Olympics, as governor, as a father and husband.'"

Christie's keynote speech is important to keep an eye on as he was strongly rumored to be Romney's running mate but according to The New York Post, decided not to join the ticket because he knows Romney will lose against Obama.

"[Christie is] a big personality, he's pushing hard, he's becoming a hero of the right and a hero for Republicans across the country," said veteran GOP consultant Ed Rollins to the NY Daily News. "They will get to see his fire and brimstone, which he does pretty well."

Wednesday's events are also "star-studded" with Senator John McCain, Lousiana Governor Bobby Jindal, former Arkansas Governor Mike Hukabee, and the main attraction for the night: Paul Ryan.

Romney will deliver his speech on Thursday night during the 10 p.m. hour after Floridian Senator Marco Rubio, who was also rumored to be Romney's VP choice.
