Justin Bieber caused a media frenzy last week when the pop star was arrested for DUI and drag racing in Miami. But TMZ reports that the police's allegations of the singer being involved in a high-speed race may not be true at all, unless you count driving in a slow pace with other cars in an orderly fashion a drag race.
A surveillance video, which was first obtained by CBS4 in Miami, shows footage of Bieber and Chief Khalil driving down the street minutes before they were arrested by the police.
In the video, the singer can be seen driving his yellow Lamborghini, ahead of Khalil and his red Ferrari. Behind Khalil was a black SUV. All three vehicles were driving in single-file.
It would appear that the presence of the SUV prevented other cars behind it from overtaking and passing into the Bieb's and Khalil's lane. If this is so, then one could probably say that all three cars moved in a safe manner.
Another article on TMZ pointed out that according to a police report, the two vehicles that were allegedly racing reached speeds of up to 60 MPH. But Bieber's Lamborghini Gallardo with a V10 engine and Khalil's Ferrari 16M can reach speeds of up to 200 MPH.
If they were racing against each other, how come they were only doing 60 in their powerful cars?
Further investigation revealed that both cars are installed with a GPS device that monitors their speed. In the exact area where the two were arrested, or where the police said the drag race took place, both cars were recorded with a speed of only 27 MPH.
As if that's not enough to send Beliebers protesting against their idol's arrest, it was revealed that Bieber's blood alcohol level was only .014, which was way below the legal intoxication limit of .08. In short, it's not enough to arrest him for DUI.
