"The A Team" singer Ed Sheeran teased his Sheerio fans about his upcoming second album through a tweet last Monday. As reported by Noise11, Sheeran's simple tweet with the equal sign symbol, or "=", stirred the Twitter world into a buzz.

If you're still wondering how this tiny mathematical symbol could cause such an online uproar, just try to remember Sheeran's first album, titled "+". So, with a metaphorical light bulb turning on above the fans' heads, they put two and two together and came up with the conclusion that this could be the title of the redhead's second album.

In fact, it got the fans so excited that some of them immediately started posting slightly-incoherent tweets, with no time to check what they have just typed. One fan tweeted "@edsheeran: =" PLS BE NEW ALBUM NAME" while another posted "IS THIS NEW ALBUM NAME MY FACE COULD FALL OFF."

Sheeran first talked about making a new album back in 2012 according to a report on MTV News. Back then, the pop star joked about converting to metal by stating that he's planning on making a death metal-themed album.

But kidding aside, the young singer-songwriter has been working with producer Rick Rubin on his upcoming album. According to Sheeran, Rubin, who is known for working with legendary artists such as Metallica, Beastie Boys, and Run-D.M.C., has inspired him to explore new things for his new album.

In another article on MTV News, Sheeran shared his newly-found music philosophy that he learned from Rubin. Unexpectedly, it was about pizzas. Yes, pizzas, those circular pies that we love so much.

Sheeran explains, "With a recording, if you view recording as a pizza, the main part of the pizza is the base, and without the base and the tomato sauce on it, you can't build anything on that."

That's true. Pizzas won't taste as great without the tomato sauce. But anyway, Sheeran adds, "So the base is the live performance. So you perform it live with an acoustic guitar....and then after is when you sprinkle the cheese on, you put a bit of bass on it, you put on herbs. i.e. drums, then you put on some pepperoni if you're into that."
