A CNN segment called "Gone to Pot" seemed to highlight the risks of being a field reporter, more than U.S.A.'s marijuana legislation. Correspondent Randi Kaye could not have realized the danger of being too close to her subject matter, as she was seen exhibiting signs of being high on marijuana on live television.

Clips of the segment posted on Youtube (see video below) show Kaye doing research on the revised marijuana laws in Colorado. The latest installment of the CNN segment saw Kaye participating in cannabis tours along with a group of people in a stretch Hummer. Kaye's team were visiting a number of legal marijuana dispensaries, reported The Independent.

Around the 4:30 mark, it was obvious to people who had indulged with the legal drug that Kaye was high, said multiple reports. The limo was also smoky due to the large joints that were passed around, which was possibly the reason why Kaye was contact-high, said the U.K. newspaper.

CNN anchor Anderson Cooper was clearly bemused when he interviewed Kaye about her research, said People Magazine.

The smiling Kaye responded to Cooper's questions, and said, "You know, Anderson, it was top-notch. We did very extensive research. I wasn't thinking right, I couldn't remember some of the questions that I wanted to ask in the interview, and I found things to be really funny, much funnier than I usually do."

Mirror U.K. also noted how Kaye conducted herself in the installment, as she was found to be giggling and grinning throughout her interviews.

According to Politico, legalization of marijuana is picking up steam in other U.S. states, which has created legal nightmare between federal and state law. The political views site, on the other hand, pointed out the lack of a strong response from high-caliber pundits. Politico also noted that progressive specialists like economist Paul Krugman or The Washington Post's Ezra Klein could have fears of being outed as a pothead if either decides to support cannabis.
