The British Academy Awards have released the nominees for the Rising Star Award.

The award recognizes talented young actors who are starting out in Hollywood. The nominees are Lea Seydoux, Dane Dehaan, George Mackay, Lupita Nyong'o and Will Poulter.

French actress Seydoux had a big break last year when she starred in the Palm d'Or winner "Blue is the Warmest Color." She was also seen in Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds," Ridley Scott's "Robin Hood," Woody Allen's "Midnight in Paris" and "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol."

Dehaan had a banner year in 2013 having starred in "The Place Beyond the Pines" and "Kill Your Darlings." He has also been seen in the HBO drama "In Treatment," "Chronicle" and Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln." The actor will next be seen in the blockbuster "The Amazing Spider-Man 2"

Mackay was recently seen in "Sunshine on Leith," Paul Wright's "For Those in Peril" and in Kevin Macdonald's "How I Live Now." He recently earned nominations from the British Independent Film Awards and the London Critics' Circle Awards for his performance in Scott Hicks' "The Boys Are Back."

Mexican born Nyong'o recently made her film debut in Steve McQueen's critically acclaimed "12 Years a Slave." For her performance in the film she has already been nominated for a Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild award and a Critics Choice award.

Poulter was recently seen in the summer comedy "We're the Millers." He was also seen in "Wild Bill," which picked up a nomination for young British performer of the year at the London Critics' Circle Awards. He has also been seen in "Son of Rambow."

The nominees were selected by a jury that included Pippa Harris, producing partner of Sam Mendes and deputy chairman of BAFTA's Film Committee, actress Gema Arterton, film critic Mark Kermode, director Kirk Jones, and producer Pete Czernin.

The winner of the award will be announced at the British Academy Film Awards on Feb. 16.
