Summit Entertainment has released a new still for "Divergent."
The new photo gives audiences a look at stars Theo James ("Underworld: Awakening") and Shailene Woodley ("The Spectacular Now," "The Descendants") in matching outfits and the stern expressions on their faces.
The photo comes a few weeks after the studio released a clip to the movie. Summit is banking all their efforts on the new movie hoping that it becomes the next big blockbuster series. However, the movie is not tracking well and lacks enough of a fanbase that something like "The Hunger Games" or "Twilight" had.
However, Summit and Lionsgate have already announced the release dates to the second and third installments. The second installment "Insurgent" will be released on March 20, 2015, while "Allegiant," will be released a year later on March 18, 2016.
"Divergent" is based on the novel of the same name by Veronica Roth and tells the story of Beatrice Prior, a teenager with a special mind, who finds her life threatened when an authoritarian leader seeks to exterminate her kind in her effort to seize control of their divided society.
"Divergent" also stars Kate Winslet ("The Reader"), Ansel Elgort ("Carrie"), Maggie Q ("Priest"), Miles Tellers ("Rabbit Hole"), Mekhi Phifer ("O"), Jai Courtney ("A Good Day To Die Hard,"), Zoe Kravitz ("X-Men: First Class") and Ashley Judd ("Heat"). The movie was directed by Neil Burger ("The Illusionists") and is slated to be released on March 21, 2013.
