Neymar will get an early vacation this January.

The Barcelona superstar is slated to leave for Brazil a week early in order to get what manager Gerardo Martino says is deserved rest.

"Neymar will go to Brazil this Thursday where he will have 10 days of rest," Martino said, according to ESPN. "He has had practically no rest for months."

"He has adapted well to the club and he knows the role he has to play. He is much loved by everyone here," he added.

After a grueling Brazilian season with Santos in 2012-13, the Brazilian superstar headed to the Confederations Cup where he played in five games for his country. During that span he scored four goals, including one in the final against Spain, and won the tournament MVP award.

Shortly after, Neymar participated in the "Messi and Friends" games alongside his Barcelona teammate. Neymar then headed to Barcelona to start training with his new team and has not gotten much time off since.

He has played in 23 games for the club including 14 Spanish league games. Neymar has enjoyed a successful opening season with his new team as he has six Spanish League goals and eight assists. He is also coming off a terrific week in which he put together six goals in three matches, his best output for Barcelona to date.

The move is unsurprising considering the injury to Lionel Messi. The Argentinean superstar did not get any time off during the summer and wound up suffering from an injury throughout the first few months of the 2013-14 season. He is now nursing an injury until February.
