Spike Jonzes' "Her" will open in limited release on Dec. 18 to rave reviews.

The new movie, starring Joaquin Phoenix, Scarlet Johansson, and Amy Adams, tells the story of a lonely writer who develops an unlikely relationship with his newly purchased operating system that's designed to meet his every need.

The film has already won a number of awards and has been nominated for the Golden Globes and Critics Choice awards. It has also won the Best Pciture from LA Film critics and has scored rave reviews.

Manohla Dargis from the New York Times gave the film a positive review and stated, "This is a movie you want to reach out and caress, about a man who, like everyone else around him in this near future, has retreated from other people into a machine world."

Rafer Guzman from Newsday gave the movie four stars and wrote, "'Her' goes light-years beyond science-fiction cliches. As the story progresses further into unexpected territory, 'Her' sometimes feels like an out-of-body experience."

Alonso Duralde from The Wrap also enjoyed the film and said, "If, like me, you've admired Jonze's ambitions more than you've responded to his results, you may find that 'Her' puts his means and his ends on more equal footing. He shoots for the moon and, this time, hits it."

Latinos Post also gave the movie a positive review and stated, "Joaquin Phoenix Delivers Powerful Turn in Existential A.I. Love Story."

Warner Bros. is releasing the movie, which is rated R for language, sexual content and brief graphic nudity.
