Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom Divorce Update: Reality Star Makes Break Up Official; Cites 'Irreconcilable Differences'

It's official. After weeks of speculation, Khloe Kardashian had filed for divorce from Lamar Odom, according to a report from MSN News. The divorce papers were filed at the Los Angeles County Superior Court last Friday. The main reason for the petition was "irreconcilable differences."

This comes after Odom was arrested last August for DUI after he was weaving through traffic on his Mercedes-Benz SUV on an L.A. freeway. In a previous report by MSN, California Highway Patrol officers arrested Odom on the San Fernando Valley Freeway as he was "traveling erratically". He was also reported to be using drugs.

The divorce report puts to rest the rumors of a split between the reality TV star and former player of the NBA's L.A. Clippers. In a report from Time Magazine, quoting a previous People Magazine report, the recent substance abuse issues of Odom, as well as the drug induced rap pushed Kardashian over the edge. 

The couple was married back in 2009 after a whirlwind romance, had their show "Khloe and Lamar" cancelled earlier this year and have not been seen in any event together in the past few weeks. Khloe was even seen not wearing her wedding ring at the recent Jay-Z concert she attended, where Lamar was also in attendance.

In a report from CBS News, Kardashian posted on her Instagram account, "I am strong because I've been weak. I am fearless because I've been afraid. I am wise because I've been foolish."

Reaction was swift from Lamar Odom as to the reported filing of divorce by Khloe Kardashian. A NY Daily News report had quoted Odom saying he was the one who ended their four year marriage by dumping her. One source said he blamed Khloe for the split, saying to friends, "I can't be f-kin' with Khloe. She brings out the bad side of me." He added that he is recommitting himself to his basketball career.
