The World Cup draw begot a number of winners and losers. Here are the teams that benefitted from the draw.

Brazil: The host nation wound up with a group that includes the likes of Cameroon, Mexico and Croatia. The toughest opponent in the group is Mexico, and everyone knows how much El Tri struggled throughout 2013's qualifiers. Of all the European teams that Brazil could have wound up with, the Selecao got the one team that struggled at the end of the qualifiers. Brazil is a heavy favorite to get out this group and should easily win every single game.

Argentina: The other top South American side wound up with what should be the easiest group of all. Nigeria may be the only team that can pose a challenge but Argentina took them down 1-0 in 2010's group stage.

Colombia: The Cafeteros wound up with a rather solid group. While it is more challenging than Argentina's the team is the favorite to get out of the group. Greece is a solid defensive side, but its offense is not as potent. Japan is a talented side but has underwhelmed of late in the Confederations Cup and friendly matches. The Ivory Coast is a fast and strong team, but should not give Colombia too much trouble.

France: Les Bleues could were the lowest seeded European side and could have been placed into the second pot if FIFA had followed the procedure it employed in past World Cups. If they had followed this procedure, then France would have wound up with Uruguay and England in a group of death. Instead, France wound up with Switzerland, Honduras and Ecuador. The French have struggled through qualifications but the team enters as the clear-cut favorite in this group.

Nigeria: While Argentina is a tough draw, the African nation will face a debutant in Bosnia and Herzegovina and a relatively easy team in Iran. The Nigerians enter this group as the favorites to finish second in the group.

Group E in general: Switzerland, Ecuador and Honduras may all fear France, but they know that Les Bleues are susceptible. More importantly, every single one of those teams knows that they can get out of the group with relative ease.

Group H: This is arguably the easiest group of all and any team can get out. Belgium is the current favorite, but Russia is also a solid bet. Meanwhile, Korea Republic has surprised in this tournament before and has a big chance to do so again with the easy draw it landed.
