As the saying goes, "When God closes a door, He opens a window for you." For a devout Christian, Tim Tebow's situation is so very apt at this time.

The free agent quarterback who was cut by the New England Patriots has not played a game in the NFL this season. However, not all is lost in his footall career. According to a report by ESPN, Tebow has been offered a four-month contract by a team in the Italian league of American football.

The Milano Seamen, through its president Marco Mutti, told the Associated Press, "The offer has been made to his agent and now we're waiting for a response... We would be more than happy to have him." The offer made by the federation was confirmed by its spokesperson with AP to be worth $200,000

According to Yahoo! Sports, the Italian league is comprised of eight teams and has two divisions. Teams come from other known areas in Italy, such as Ancona, Bologna, Bolzano, Emilia, Milan has two teams, Parma, Reggio and Rome. The season begins in March and its Super Bowl is played in July, where in last year's Super Bowl game, the Parma Panthers beat the Milano Seamen 51 to 28.

The 26-year-old 2007 Heisman Trophy winner, according to The Globe and Mail, would be the highest profile player to become part of the Italian league, should he accept the offer and sign up with the team.

The Milano Seamen for its part is one of the largest teams in the league, with the largest stadium amongst all its teams with an 8,000 seats. One of its former owners is Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani.

Tebow shot to fame in professional football with the Denver Broncos leading the team into the playoffs in 2011. He was traded to the New York Jets as the Broncos signed Peyton Manning and his career has stalled since then. He was last in uniform with the New England Patriots before the current season started.
