Sony/Columbia has released a new clip and a teaser for "American Hustle."

Even though the film has yet to be seen by critics, Sony is starting to release clips and teasers. The studio recently released a clip of Jennifer Lawrence's character exploding a microwave and arguing with Christian Bale's character.

Sony then released a TV spot of film with new footage, which continued to highlight Lawrence as well Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper and Bale.

The studio has been very protective of the film, even though it already had four test screenings, and one for the production's family and friends. However, anticipation is high and many pundits already have the film as a front-runner for the Oscars.

The movie has not been to any festivals, but Sony announced that the movie would be closing the Dubai Film Festival in December. The question that most pundits are asking is if it will be ready for the National Board of Review and New York Film Critics.

These organizations set the trend for what the awards season will look like and which films will be honored. With Hustle being released so late, it could easily miss out on these awards.

"American Hustle" tells the story of a con man, Irving Rosenfeld, who, along with his seductive British partner Sydney Prosser, is forced to work for a wild FBI agent Richie DiMaso. DiMaso pushes them into a world of Jersey powerbrokers and mafia.

The film will be released on Dec. 18 in limited-release and will expand on Dec. 20 nationwide.
