Ahead of the Black Friday shopping days, one major U.S. mobile carrier has reduced the price of the iPhone 5s.

AT&T is offering the 16GB iPhone 5s for $99.99 when signing a two-year contract with the mobile carrier.

The $99.99 price tag is $100 less from the traditional $199 price tag for the iPhone 5s. The $199 price tag is still valid on Apple's official website.

The new, likely temporary, price tag is only valid on AT&T's official website since the $100 discount is listed as an "Online Discount." It is unknown when AT&T will remove the offer.

The $99.99 price tag for the 16GB model of the iPhone 5s is eligible for the three color options for the Apple smartphone, which are black, silver and gold.

AT&T allows customers to buy the iPhone 5s as part of the mobile carrier's "AT&T Next" plan, which offers the Apple smartphone for $27 per the next 20 months. If the consumer cancels the plan, the remaining balance on the device will be due immediately.

The price change does not affect the 32GB and 64GB iPhone 5s models. The 32GB model remains at $299.99 and the 64GB is $399.99. However, the AT&T Next plan is eligible for the 32GB and 64GB models of the iPhone 5s. An AT&T subscriber can pay $32 for the 32GB model or $37 for the 64GB variant for the next 20 months.

Regardless of the internal storage model purchased, AT&T is also offering free shipping of the iPhone 5s.

The features for the iPhone 5s are, for the most part, the same specifications as the discontinued iPhone 5, such as the 4-inch Retina Display with 1,136x640 resolution, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, 1080p HD video recording camera, to name a few. The iPhone 5s, however, features a larger f/2.2 aperture for the rear-facing camera with the aim of improving low-light photography. The iPhone 5s utilizes the A7 processor chip with 64-bit architecture, which plays a critical role with the Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

As Latinos Post reported, Apple confirmed 9 million units of the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c were sold during its first weekend on Sept. 20. The 9 million units for both phones were 4 million units more than the first-weekend sales of the iPhone 5 in September 2012, which sold 5 million units.
