Despite recent information hinting that Android 4.3 Jelly Bean was just about ready to release for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, it looks like the update has probably been delayed for the time being.
The recently-released Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update turned out to contain a number of major bugs, causing its rollout to be put on hiatus. This prompted Phones Review to state that the Galaxy Note 2 update is also "surely to be delayed."
Samsung has not commented on the matter, so it's important to treat the information with a healthy dose of skepticism. Still, given that some of the Galaxy S3 issues seem to be tied into the newer TouchWiz interface found on the 2013 Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3, the same problems might be affecting the Galaxy Note 2 as well.
The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was set to begin rolling out in November. The firmware has apparently been spotted at some local Samsung service centers, and a leaked Best Buy document indicated that U.S. carriers would push out the update starting Nov. 20. Given the recent developments and Galaxy S3 bugs, these dates could very well be pushed back to December.
While Android 4.3 Jelly Bean won't bring many new features to casual users, it does bring some of the Galaxy Note 3's new functions (including S-Pen-related ones) and Samsung's KNOX security software.
