It's not Android 4.4 KitKat, but owners of the AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 3 can still grab a useful minor update off the air as of Wednesday, Nov. 13.
The update isn't large, but it's still best to have the device charged and tethered to a Wi-Fi connection. The new firmware doesn't bring much other than security and performance enhancements, but still, it's a nice little patch that should clean up the experience. The patch makes Samsung keyboard's background dark blue instead of white and older microSD cards should work better.
As with all over-the-air rollouts, not all Galaxy Note 3s on AT&T's network will receive it at the same time. Android updates are pushed out in batches, so it may take some time before it arrives on your handset. You can manually check for updates by going to Settings > About Phone > Software updates.
In other Samsung Galaxy Note 3 news, U.S. carrier Verizon also recently released its own stability update. Like the AT&T one, the firmware brings minor changes, and mostly aims to fix poor sound quality and Wi-Fi connectivity issues. There's no word on whether carriers Sprint and T-Mobile will release their own updates for their respective Galaxy Note 3s.
More substantial updates have been pushed out to international variants.
Samsung has not provided any concrete details on when Android 4.4 KitKat will arrive on the Galaxy Note 3, although testing has already started.
