Teen idol Justin Bieber and several of his friends spary-painted graffiti on the walls of a tunnel in Bogotá, Colombia, while being escorted by local police, Fox News Latino reported.
After performing in the Colombian capital the 19-year-old star took the streets to leave his signature on the concrete, according to TN.com.ar.
Despite the fact that graffiti is against the law in Columbia, Colombian police director, Gen. Rodolfo Palomino, said that society should "evolve" because "graffiti is the expression of a feeling, of a motivation."
Bieber and his entourage painted on stretch of a tunnel wall about 40 meters long, located on 26th Street near the city's council building. The "As Long As You Love Me" singer wore a cap and hood to keep him from being recognized, but local paparazzi spotted him anyway. Bieber's bodyguards told the media to stop recording the star, however, police reminded them Colombia enjoys freedom of the press.
According to E! Online, Bieber gave friend his Chris Brown a shout out on the wall, spray-painting "Free Breezy" in red. The rapper, notorious for his temper and a 2009 incident in which he assaulted ex-girlfriend Rihanna so severely it caused her "mouth to fill with blood and blood to splatter all over her clothing and the interior of the vehicle," according to the police report, checked into rehab for anger management on Tuesday, Oct. 29. The singer also spray-painted "RIP PAC," in memory of his pet hamster, named after legendary rapper Tupac Shakur.
A group of local fans gathered to keep a dozen graffiti artists from covering Bieber's artwork. "Honestly, I'm super mad because these guys come here and ruin Justin's graffiti. He has the right to make his own art," said a fan, according to TN.
During his stay in Guatemala, the singer visited a small village where he joined a local charity organization, called "Pencils of Promise," to help build up the walls for a new school, Fox News Latino reported.
After his performance in Guatemala City, Bieber traveled to the village, situated in a remote area outside the country's capital, to meet with the team of the organization, which was founded by his manager Scooter Braun's brother.
He later took to Twitter to share his experience with his fans. "Today was 1 of the most powerful and humbling days of my life. Thank u Guatemala & @PencilsOfPromise," he wrote afterward. "Today I saw real happiness. So powerful."
