The debuts of Apple's iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c in India has reportedly proved successful as stock for one of the new smartphones went dry.

According to The Times of India, the iPhone 5s "sold out across the country." The report added that retailers have asked Apple to supply additional iPhone 5s models.

"To be sure, not too many phones may have been supplied by the company, with the trade estimating the number of 5S devices at 6,000 units," reported Times of India's Romit Guha and Writankar Mukherjee.

Retailers such as Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communications have request additional stock of the iPhone 5s but have encountered one obstacle, Diwali. The festivals of lights have delayed retailers' efforts to re-stock the iPhone 5s due to the Diwali celebration.

Meanwhile, retailers Future Group, MobileStore, PlanetM, and UniverCell have noted they still have iPhone 5c models in stock while the iPhone 5s ran out.

According to reports, trade estimates have suggested 30,000 units of the latest iPhones launched in India but only 6,000 accounted for the iPhone 5s.

The iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c launched in India on Nov. 1 as part of the third phase of the smartphones' release dates. As Latinos Post reported, the Nov. 1 release date also took place in Albania, Armenia, Bahrain, Colombia, El Salvador, Guam, Guatemala, India, Macedonia, Malaysia, Mexico, Moldova, Montenegro, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and United Arab Emirates.

The Nov. 1 launch occurred one week after more than 30 countries started to sell the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s, such as Austria, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Russia, South Korea, Spain, and Taiwan, to name a few.

The iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c made its initial launch on Sept. 20 across Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore, United Kingdom, and United States.

Latinos Post also reported Apple's revelation that the two new iPhones sold 9 million units during its first weekend on Sept. 20. The Cupertino-based organization didn't reveal specific numbers for the iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c. The 9 million units for both phones were 4 million units more than the first-weekend sales of the iPhone 5 in September 2012, which sold 5 million units. Apple hasn't revealed sales figures following the Oct. 25 and Nov. 1 launch dates.
