The Motorola Moto X was originally released with a $199 price tag across all service providers, but now it looks as though most, but not all service providers have dropped the price for the smartphone considerably. Now the MotoMaker website has the device listened for the price of $99, meaning that the Moto X is an even more appealing piece of tech for those looking for a new phone to play around with.

The device is being sold on the MotoMaker website, which is only available to AT&T customers so far, for $99, but other service providers are also offering the smartphone at the new price. Sprint is also offering the device for $99, though on the MotoMaker website the phone is only available in the white model as the black is currently sold out. US Cellular is also offering the Moto X for $99, but have a special discount for switching to the service provider that cuts an additional $75 off the price tag for the phone.

However not all service providers are offering the Moto X for the new price. Verizon Wireless is still offering the phone for the original $199 price tag with a two year subscription plan. T-Mobile only offers an unlocked version of the Moto X for $599.99.

It should be noted that this new price tag is for the 16GB model of the Moto X, and that the 32GB model also has a new discounted price of $149. The Developer Edition of the phone is still available for $649. Those who use the MotoMaker website to design and buy their own Moto X will receive the Motorola Skip accessory as well. This allows for the phone to get unlocked with one tap of the device.

The Motorola Moto X is one of the most unique smartphones available on the market, mostly due to the ability for users to go on the MotoMaker website and design their own Moto X from the ground up. This includes choosing the color scheme of the backplate, volume buttons, and even the headphone jack. This wide variety of options is something that other smartphone makers do not offer users, and even the Apple iPhone 5C with it's colorful backplates pales in comparison to options afforded Moto X users. In addition, Motorola will ship the Moto X to a user's home within four days of ordering the device from the Motormaker website.
