During the 14th Annual Latin Grammy Awards next month, the Latin Recording Academy will honor Miguel Bosé as 2013's Person of the Year for his artistic career and his contributions to Latin culture and his important philanthropic work.

Through a press release quoted by People en Español, the Latin Recording Academy highlighted the important role Bosé has had not only in music, but in the development of Latino culture in the span of his 30-year professional career.

It's worth noting that the Spanish singer will assist the Telehit Awards on Nov. 13 in the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City, and his award as 2013's Person of the Year will take place on Nov. 20 in Las Vegas, Nevada, a day before the 2013 Latin Grammy Awards, which will be broadcast live from the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

In the press release quoted by People, Gabriel Abaroa, CEO of the Latin Recording Academy, acknowledged the Spanish singer as a respected artist, expressing his excitement in honoring the singer.

"We're very excited to honor one of the most respected artists, as well as a man whose selflessness has benefitted many around the world".

With this honor, Miguel Bosé will end a year that was filled with professional achievements, among which is his nomination for a Latin Grammy thanks to his latest album, "PAPITWO", in the categories of Album of the Year and Best Vocal Pop Album.

The prestigious award has been used in the past to honor artists like Plácido Domingo, Gloria Estefan, Carlos Santana, and Caetano, among others.
