Apple has not announced the fifth-generation 9.7-inch tablet, yet, accessories for the iPad 5 have been spotted on Amazon.com.

Apple confirmed an Oct. 22 event will take place from the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, Calif., but the Cupertino-based organization didn't specify its purpose.

The event is largely speculated to be the setting for the iPad 5's debut.

Ahead of the Oct. 22 debut, covers for the 9.7-inch tablet have made themselves available.

The first iPad accessory is the "COD Rotating Stand Leather Case for iPad 5 Tablet 4G LTE (Red)." Sold by CrazyOnDigital Corp., the leather case can rotate 360 degrees for landscape and portrait viewing and can snap into a mount.

"The form-fitted design securely holds the iPad 5 in place while the hard-sided exterior provides a sturdy, protective cover," noted CrazyOnDigital Corp on Amazon.com. "The soft interior lining adds color and protects the iPad 5 against scratches. The thin design makes it easy to carry inside of another case adding little weight or thickness to the iPad itself."

The COD Rotating Stand Leather Case is priced at $9.99 and has a $3.85 shipping fee.

Kay's Technology is offering the "FlipStand Cover Case" for the iPad 5. The cover includes a front cover that can be flipped over and provide as a stand. The cover is not in stock until Oct. 30, but customers can order it now for $20 and has a $2.98 shipping fee.

"KaysCase FlipStand Case for your Apple iPad 5 tablet folds in all the right places. All ports are cut out perfectly," noted Kay's Technology's description for the product. "Other features of the case include the ability to fold into the perfect typing position. The interior is also made of high quality soft PU Leather and velcro flap to secure Apple iPad 5 tightly in place when in landscape position."

Finally, i-Blason has the "Apple iPad 5 Super Slim Book Shell Case." The iPad 5 cover by i-Blason has five color options ranging from black, blue, orange, pink, and purple.

i-Blason noted, "This case features a combination of functionality and style. Built for best in class material = Light Weight and Durability (Guaranteed by i-Blason 3 Year Warranty)."

The cover includes a built-in elastic hand strap for gripping and handling and a bonus stylus.

The i-Blason cover for the iPad 5 will be in stock starting Oct. 27, and it'll be priced at $9.95 with a $4.98 shipping fee

The iPad 5 has been speculated to follow a design similar to the current iteration of the iPad mini as its width and depth are expected to slightly shrink with the introduction of a new shell and thinner bezel. The iPad 5 is likely to run on Apple's latest processor, A7X, but no word yet if the tablet will carry the new fingerprint sensor.

As Latinos Post reported, Apple has been facing tougher tablet competition as its market share is down considerably when comparing the second quarter of 2013 to the same period last year. Based on the International Data Corporation's (IDC) figures, Apple finished the second quarter this year with 32.4 percent of the market share, which is down from 2012's 60.3 percent.

Apple's Oct. 22 event starts at 1 p.m. EST. Latinos Post will provide full coverage of the event.
