Ireland and Kazakhstan will face off in their final World Cup qualifying match of the current cycle Tuesday.

Ireland saw its hopes of making the World Cup next summer come to an end when it lost 3-0 in Germany on Friday. The Germans dominated possession throughout and looked vastly superior to their opponents. However, Ireland's Coach Noel King was happy with the team's effort in a tough tilt.

"Real football people know what went on tonight," he said, according to ESPN. "We had chances to go 2-1 and despite not having the lion's share of possession, to come away from the best team in the world in this environment and create five or six chances, that was a testament to their passion and courage.

"Against a top team in the world, we created chances. I'm delighted with our boys. I'm just sorry we didn't score. I thought we deserved a goal."

Ireland will look to finish its qualifying campaign with 14 points; the team currently has 11 thanks to three wins, two draws, and four losses. The team's two of the three victories came against the Faroe Islands, while the other came against Kazakhstan in Astana; Ireland has only managed one home victory in four previous tries.

Kazakhstan has one win, two draws, and six losses in the qualifiers; the team only managed a win against the Faroe Islands.

Prediction: Ireland is the top seed here and should win 3-1.
