Denmark will look to salvage its World Cup hopes when it takes on Malta on Tuesday.

Denmark is on its last legs and must find a way to win its final match of the tournament. With 13 points in nine matches, Denmark is in a tie with Bulgaria for the second place in the group. However, Bulgaria has a distinct advantage on goal differential and would be the favored side if it defeats the Czech Republic in its final game.

However, Denmark is in a bit of a difficult situation. The top eight of nine runner-ups are promoted to the playoff round. The eight runner-ups with six teams in their groups (one group only has five) will lose the points that they gained against last place side when rankings on the runner-up table are created. For Denmark, a win over Malta is essential but it may ultimately leave the team out of a playoff position. A win would give Denmark 16 points, but six of those would be against Malta.

Furthermore, Denmark must hope for a Bulgarian loss against the Czechs.

According to the Times of Malta, the players traveling to Denmark for the Malta game will be as follows:

Goalkeepers: Justin Haber, Henry Bonello.

Defenders: Luke Dimech, Ryan Camilleri, Alex Muscat, Clifford Gatt Baldacchino, Justin Grioli, Andrei Agius.

Midfielders: Clayton Failla, Roderick Briffa, Ryan Fenech, Andrew Cohen, John Mintoff, Rowen Muscat, Edward Herrera, Paul Fenech, Shaun Bajada.

Forwards: Andrè Schembri, Terence Vella, Michael Mifsud.

Prediction: Denmark should have no difficulty winning this match. Expect a 3-0 win for Denmark.

Start Time: Kick-off starts at 2:15 p.m. EST
