HTC Ones are currently in the process of being upgraded to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean here in the United States, but there's a crucial component missing from those updates: Sense 5.5. The latest version of HTC's user interface won't arrive for the handset until at least November, says one insider.

HTC developer LlabTooFeR, well known for his inside information on HTC software updates, recently said on Twitter that he thinks Sense 5.5 will first begin rolling out in November.

For those who haven't been following the recent HTC update news, this date mostly applies to international HTC Ones in regions such as Europe and Asia. HTC Ones in those areas are slated to get Android 4.3 plus Sense 5.5 sometime in November or December. Places such as the United States, where the carrier-tied HTC Ones are getting Android 4.3 without Sense 5.5 before everybody else, will have to wait for Sense 5.5 to arrive in a separate update sometime in the future.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean does bump up the HTC One two versions in the Android cycle, but with most of the tweaks lying under the hood, most HTC One users will find more changes in the new Sense rather than the new Android.

HTC is expected to reveal Sense 5.5 alongside the HTC One Max at an event Oct. 15. While none of the new features have officially been confirmed, a new leak shows that Sense 5.5 won't be a radical departure from Sense 5. Instead, it looks like the Sense update will mostly streamline features and contain some minor adjustments meant to tighten up the new content aggregation and sharing system introduced with Sense 5.
