On upcoming episodes of "Nashville," Rayna and Deacon will try to leave the past behind and move forward.

On last week's episode, Rayna (Connie Britton) came out of her coma and broke up with Deacon (Chip Esten) for good. Rayna also finally broke it off with Teddy (Eric Close), and is now very focused on her music career. Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) tried to garner some of the same type of sympathy that came Rayna's way after her crash, and did not take kindly to a new country starlet who is trying to steal her spotlight.

TVLine reports that in this week's episode, called "I Don't Wanna Talk About It Now," Deacon will try to recover from his debilitating alcoholism by getting to the root of the problem: his past. He will reflect on the adverse effects of growing up in an abusive household.

Meanwhile, Rayna will be busy with her label and will deal with her former producer, Liam.

As for Juliette, any sexual tension she has with Avery (Jonathan Jackson) may evaporate after tonight's episode. Juliette will make it clear to Avery that she views him only as an employee, and nothing more. But that doesn't mean that Juliette won't have love interests this season. Yet, some of her romances may be more lust than love.

"Juliette always has a love life," executive producer Dee Johnson told TVGuide. "I think it's probably a form of medication. Coming out of last season ...she is going into the zone of protecting her heart. If she's looking for romance, it's going to be the kind of romance that's not going to hurt her."

Tonight's episode will also focus on Rayna and Teddy parting ways as their divorce becomes final. Peggy will also try to win Teddy back, Juliette takes a gig singing at an anniversary party for a billionaire couple, and Deacon's past complicates his relationship with his biological daughter, Maddie.

Meanwhile, Juliette will continue to feel threatened by the new up-and-coming pop star and Rayna will face some distressing vocal issues.

TVLine also revealed a first look at an upcoming episode in which Will Chase ("Smash") stars as a country singer who may pique Rayna's interest. Chase will appear in the Oct. 23 episode of the series.

Chase's character, Luke, will perform with Will (Chris Carmack) and Rayna during a benefit concert starring the hit song-makers of Edgehill Records.
