Rebel Wilson has confirmed that talks for "Pitch Perfect 2" are underway.
During her appearance on "Watch What Happens Live!" the actress was asked by a caller about the progress on the sequel.
"Here's the latest gossip. I really want to do it. We are waiting on a script from Kay Cannon, he's the writer from the first one," responded Wilson, according to Perez Hilton. "And then hopefully it'll be a go. But at the moment, nothing's locked in."
Despite Wilson's assertion that nothing is set in stone, IMDB already has an official page for the sequel. Wilson is included as one of two credited cast members; Demi Lovato is included as a rumored addition to the cast.
Wilson is not the only "Pitch Perfect" star to bring up the sequel and its progress. Britney Snow recently revealed similar information and noted that she was also excited about returning to the sequel for the surprise hit.
"Yeah, the sequel is still in the works. It's really up in the air, and we're really excited for it, but I think it's going to be one of those things where it's a process and we'll see what happens," she said to Glamour. "I'm excited to just hang out with my best friends again. We got so close on that movie, and we still hang out all the time. I think all of us want to do it just for that reason-just to be together and sing."
Few expected the first film, which cost an estimated $17 million to make, to be a box office sensation. However, the film went on to gross $65 million at the domestic box office and brought in over $100 million worldwide.
