To his audience on Wednesday, Pope Francis said the Catholic Church would not reject sinners, regardless if they are men, women, priests and Popes, according to information shared by La Tercera.

The Pope explained to hundreds of Catholics that it was heresy to say that the church only accepts people that are "pure" and free of sin. He added that "Christ love the Church and gave his life for it, to make it holy" and pointed out the "difficulties, problems and dark moments" of the church.

Pope Francis rejected the notion that people say that "the Church is the church for the pure only, those who are complete coherent and the rest must be shunned", which to him is complete heresy.

"This is not true! The Church is holy and does not reject sinners. Does not reject us. It does not reject because it calls for all: embraces, is open to those furthest away. Calls the world to allow itself to be surrounded by mercy, tenderness, generosity and the forgiveness of the father," he said.

According to La Tercera, the Pope extended an invitation for those present to be infected with "God's holiness," letting God act, helping others and not doing "extraordinary things".
