Apple's iPhone 5s is reportedly outselling the iPhone 5c, according to an analytical and marketing platform.

Localytics reported that the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c represent 1.36 percent of all activated iPhones among the top four mobile carriers in the United States, i.e, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless.

The firm stated that 1.05 percent of 1.36 percent represent the iPhone 5s, while the remaining 0.31 percent belongs to the iPhone 5c.

"That means that the iPhone 5s outshines the 5c by a factor of 3.4x, a clear indicator that the early adopters are favoring the high-end 5s compared to 5c," wrote Localytics' Vice President of Marketing Bernd Leger. "This makes sense since those who feel the need to buy a new device the very weekend it launches are most likely the power users who want the highest-end phone experience."

Of the top four mobile carriers, AT&T encountered the highest adoption rate for both new iPhones. AT&T represented 0.67 percent of iPhone 5c and iPhone 5c activations against 0.51 percent from Verizon Wireless. Sprint placed third for most iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c activations with 0.12 percent, and T-Mobile held 0.07 percent.

The U.S. adoption of the latest Apple smartphones was also reflected in international sales. Localytics stated the iPhone 5s outpaced the colorful iPhone 5c by 3.7 times. Japan, however, saw the iPhone 5s adopted at a rate five times higher than the iPhone 5c.

Leger added, "At first glance, it's not altogether clear whether poorer countries are buying more 5c's compared to 5s's, but it will be good to keep a close eye on this data in the next few days to see if there is any pattern emerging."

The analytical firm noted the U.S. is on top with most iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c adoptions with more than twice as many as all other countries and regions combined.

Localytics' timeframe for the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c figures ran from Sept. 20 to Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. EST.

Apple has not commented on specific sales on the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, but has stated 9 million units were sold for both new smartphones.
