It was probably one of the worst kept secrets leading up to the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Summer Olympics, but either way the reunion of the Spice Girls is one of the most talked about moments of the night.
Rumors circulated last week of the five singers performing on top of ford cars, alluding to a performance for the closing ceremony. Their names were not mentioned in promoting the show on any of the networks unless if it was a guess.
The Spice Girls entered the arena inside the respective cars and meeting in the center of the stage. The beat to their first single "Wannabe" started to play causing a positive roar from the audience. The ladies exited their cars as Scary Spice Mel B started the lyrics, "Yo, I'll tell you what I want, what I really really want."
Although there was some miming during the performance, it was enough to catch the crowd's attention, particularly UK Prime Minister David Cameron and London Mayor Boris Johnson, with the latter seen dancing to "Spice Up Your Life."
The ladies, while on top of their cars, traveled around the arena while performing their second song.
It was the first performance for the best-selling girl group of all time since their 2008 reunion tour.

NBC viewers should be lucky to see the girls perform as the network scratched many performances such as Ray Davies, Muse - who performed the official single for the 2012 London Olympics, and further delayed The Who until midnight following a commercial-free screening of its upcoming sitcom Animal Practice.
The decision to nix the performances and the interruption to air the new sitcom caused a fury with viewers to flock to Twitter. Coverage from the BBC aired with no commercials and uninterrupted.
Other performers during the night included Queen, George Michael, the Pet Shop Boys, Jessie J, Taio Cruz, Annie Lennox, Liam Gallagher, One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Take That, and comedian Russell Brand.
