Athletic Bilbao and Espanyol will look to jump into the top four in the Spanish League BBVA when they face off on Monday.

Athletic currently sits in fifth place with nine points, while Espanyol has eight. Fourth place Villarreal has 11 points but has played one more game than either team. If Athletic manages to pull off the victory, then it will jump into fourth place; if Espanyol wins, then it will draw even with Villarreal. However, a draw would leave both teams behind Villarreal.

Athletic has gotten off to a terrific start in 2013-14. On Aug. 17, the team traveled to Real Valladolid and pulled off a 2-1 win. In its second game of the season a week later, Athletic Bilbao gave its home fans a rousing 2-0 win over Osasuna. Things got a bit tricky a week later when the club was trounced 3-1 by a terrific Real Madrid. Fortunately, the team was able to bounce back a few weeks later and earned a 3-2 home victory over Celta Vigo.

Espanyol has also had an incredible start to 2013-14 as it remains one of the few clubs in the league without a loss in its first four weeks. The team drew 2-2 in Celta Vigo back on Aug. 19 before defeating a struggling Valencia side 3-1 a week later. A 0-0 draw with Real Betis ensued but the team managed to pull off a huge 1-0 win in Granada.

Prediction: Espanyol defeats Bilbao 1-0.
