It's the day the American women's volleyball team have been looking for, the volleyball final at the 2012 London Summer Olympics.

The women are looking to defeat their nemesis, Brazil, who defeated them at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, giving Team USA the silver medal.

Since their 2008 loss, Team USA have been preparing to avenge themselves and it might come in the form of rookie Destinee Hooker.

"She's incredible," said Team USA Captain Lindsey Berg. "She's playing like a vet right now and it's very easy to play with her. And I'm lucky that's who I have to set up because she makes my balls look good."

Hooker, at just 24-years-old, enters her first Summer Olympics after she was cut from the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Now in London, Hooker has the second highest scorer at the Olympics compared to all athletes participating. Hooker has spiked 123 times, made 21 blocks, and three serves. She comes second after South Korea's Yeon-Koung Kim. To prove how dominant Hooker has been, the next American on the top scorers list is Foluke Akinradewo in 12th place.

"Now I'm at this level that I never thought I'd be, and I have so many little girls who look up to me," said Hooker. "It's truly a blessing."

During the 2012 Olympics, Team USA have been undefeated, taking down the Dominican Republic, Turkey, Serbia, China, and South Korea twice. The game will not be the first time the USA encountered Brazil, as they played against each other during a preliminary game on July 30 in a 3-1 Brazilian loss.

Berg spoke on how different and strong both the USA and Brazilian teams are, "Brazil's very emotional, so sometimes that's a good thing for them and sometimes a bad thing for them. Both teams are going to be incredible. It's the gold-medal match."

As Brazil and the USA go for gold, Japan and South Korea played for the bronze prize. Japan came on top with a 3-0 victory.
