The Sony Xperia Z1 (former known as Honami) is being released in several international markets, indicating that Sony may be gearing up to launch the device in North America sometime soon.

One of the markets selling smartphone is India, as NDTV is reporting that the device has launched in the country for 44,990 Indian Rupees, or slightly more than $700. Indian retailers are offering several special deals with the device, including a 5000mAh battery instead of the standard 3,000mAh battery, and free data for a limited amount of time. It is unclear if these special offers will come to North America when the device is eventually released there.

The Sony Xperia Z1 is also available in the United Kingdom as well, according to GSMArena. The device is currently available only in black, however, the white version of the Xperia Z1 will launch on Sept. 23 according to the report. The purple version of the smartphone does not have a release date currently, but will be released soon in the U.K. The device is only sold at a handful of retailers in the country, such as Clove, Handtec and Digital Phone Company. Like India, the United Kingdom offers some unique deals for those purchasing the Xperia Z1. One such deal from Clove will gift customers a free Sony Smartwatch 2 with their purchase of the Z1. The device is on sale in the United Kingdom for 550 British pounds, or slightly higher than $875.

Sony has yet to indicate when North American tech fans can get their hands on the Xperia Z1, but considering the phone is beginning to roll out to international markets, the device will most likely show up sooner rather than later.

The Xperia Z1 is quite the impressive device. It has a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone has a 5-inch Full HD display to view photos and videos taken with the 20.7-megapixel camera. Despite the fact that the Xperia Z1 is not available in the United States, rumors have already started to circulate concerning the successor to the Xperia Z1, the Xperia Z2. That device is rumored to be revealed at CES 2014 and released sometime soon after.
