Drake is coming out with an album later this month. Apologies to all other recording artists. No matter how talented or groundbreaking your music is, Drake is coming out with an album later this month. The music industry is on hold. It’s the calm before the storm. Arguably the most hyped and successful rapper/singer in the past five years, Drake is just catching his stride. He’s at his peak and shows no sign of going down anytime soon. His upcoming release overshadows any new music within its genre. He’s hogging all the excitement and allure.

But Drake knows he’s not alone. He knows there are hundreds of talented performers right there by his side, and despite the blinding limelight, he works hard to provide a select few with every opportunity possible to rise to the top.

One of longtime collaborators, whose rise to fame is much due to Drake’s label, October’s Very Own, has just released his own album, titled Kiss Land, in the dawn of Drake’s approaching Nothing Was the Same. The Weeknd began his career in Toronto alongside Drake and has been featured on several of the star’s tracks, showcasing his pitch-perfect falsetto and phenomenal voice control.

Now Drake joins The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, in the new music video for “Live For.” The two are featured together walking through an abandoned warehouse that sets a dark and moody visual that parallels the song. Watch it below.

While the world anxiously waits for Drake’s Nothing Was the Same, don’t forget that there are other equally as talented artists out there who deserve to be heard. They may not have the clout of the rap kingpin, but Drake doesn’t rule the world… yet.
