George Zimmerman's lawyer Mark O'Mara announced that he will not represent Zimmerman in a recent domestic altercation or his divorce.

O'Mara made the announcement Tuesday, one day after Zimmerman's estranged wife Shellie called 911 after reportedly getting into a domestic incident with her husband at her parents' central Florida home. During Shellie's 911 call, she claimed that George threatened her and her father with a gun and punched her father in the nose.

"He's in his car and he continually has his hand on his gun and he keeps saying 'step closer' and he's just threatening all of us," Shellie Zimmerman said in the call, reports CBS News.

However, she later changed her story, says Lake Mary Police Department spokesman Zach Hudson, confessing that she and her father never saw a gun. A gun was not found on the scene, although CBS affiliate WKMG reports that Zimmerman's attorney, Mark O'Mara, said Zimmerman had a gun holstered to his body. Shellie also reportedly decided not to press charges.

Days before, Shellie Zimmerman filed for divorce.

O'Mara will continue to represent Zimmerman in a pending defamation suit against NBC and in the remaining motions stemming from the Trayvon Martin trial, including a motion to reimburse Zimmerman's attorneys and a motion to censure the prosecution.

Police said Tuesday they are still investigating the incident and that either George or his wife Shellie could eventually face charges.

O'Mara appeared to struggle with the anger he feels for his client during Monday's incident in which he went to Zimmerman's house while police were still there. During a press conference later, O'Mara was asked if he had any advice for Zimmerman, and he replied, "Pay me."

O'Mara represented Zimmerman in his murder trial over the shooting death of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman's attorneys claimed that he shot the teen out of self-defense after the two engaged in a physical confrontation. The 29-year-old former volunteer neighborhood watch caption was acquitted of all charges by a Florida jury on July 13.
