During her introduction in Playboy Magazine in Mexico City, Brazilian actress Leia Freitas said she was more nervous about working with Mexican comedian Eugenio Derbez than she was posing for the adult magazine.
According to People, the model said, "I was more nervous there (in the movie), that in the Playboy photos." She added, "I'm a huge fan of Derbez. Since I arrived in Mexico I liked him a lot, I saw his show even though I didn't speak Spanish yet. I always watched it, I saw his expressions and understood everything. On scene I felt as if I had a god in front of me, because he is really good at everything he does, he is a very talented person."
People Magazine reported that Freitas revealed she was adopted when she was six days old, which was difficult for her to understand as a child, but with the years she managed to.
"When I was little, when I was still a baby, I didn't understand why my mother didn't want me, or why she didn't raise me, what was wrong with me, but when you're an adult, you begin to understand things differently and see things very differently," she said.
Freitas also said that she lost her adoptive mother when she was seven, "What affects me is that I miss her too much because I think mothers should be eternal. We should make the most of our time to be with (our) mother, with our loved ones, because you don't know what could happen tomorrow."
People also reported that Brazilian model shared that the betrayal by one of her boyfriends during one of the hardest moments of her life. She said, "When my mother got sick I went to Brazil for a month, as much as time as I needed to because it was my mother. Then I discovered he was sleeping with another woman while I took care of my mother while she was sick, it was then that she died. I arrived in Mexico and realized because I saw certain traces in my house... Since I called him to tell him I was coming back he answered from the bathroom, I thought it was weird, but when I arrived I did see traces, I didn't even unpack, I left and never went back."
Freitas had her acting debut during "Instructions Not Included, where she played the role of one of the girlfriends of Eugenio Derbez' character.
