Flames wisp at your 5 o'clock shadow. Your brazened suit wears heavy, weighing you down as you navigate wreckage and fallen obstructions. Your heart is pumping a million beats per second. Smokey sweat drips into your eyes as you make your last pass to the cool oasis outside. You made it out alive, again. You'll live to see another days and breathe another breath. And it was all worth it. After all, you're a hero.

Firefighters are one of the last few remaining glorified professionals. Kids look up to them, the world relies on them, and their humble demeanors place them in their own category of untouchable. They're the guys. So naturally, they have their very own television show dedicated to their practice. In fact, there have been various programs in the past that have depicted their gritty heroism. The most recent, "Chicago Fire," is currently preparing for its second season while fans continue to dig for an inside scoop on what's to come. Well today's their lucky day.

According to TV Guide, Severide will be meeting a new woman, but it's not what you may think. The woman, 19-year-old Katie, is not a new love interest, nor is she his father's mistress as he suspects. In fact, she's Benny's daughter, making her Severide's own sister.

As executive producer Danielle Gelber recently hinted, "there's going to be layers of Severide's past that are revealed through Benny and through some unexpected twists."

It's going to be an emotionally packed season, and it all begins in a mere couple weeks. Put your helmets on.

"Chicago Fire" returns to NBC September 24.
