Scarlet Johansson has gotten engaged to her boyfriend Romain Dauriac.

People magazine reported that Johansson was engaged to the journalist after the two showed up at the Venice Film Festival together at the premiere of her new movie "Under the Skin." A source told the magazine "They're engaged and very happy."

Fans started to speculate when the starlet arrived on the red carpet with a black gown and a huge art deco diamond ring that looked like an engagement ring.

However, the reports were not confirmed by the star's representatives when contacted by USA Today.

Johansson's new movie premiered at the festival to mixed reviews and received a number of boos and walkouts. Despite the poor reception, not every critic hated the film. Critic Robbie Collin of The Telegraph gave the movie five stars and wrote, "[this] astonishing film will leave you at once entranced and terrified." Ann Brooks of the Guardian was also among the admirers and wrote, "A sexy space alien hunts men in Scotland in this extraordinary malarial dream from Jonathan Glazer."

However, Kaleem Aftab of The Independent disliked the movie. "Even Scarlett Johansson can't save Jonathan Glazer's laughably bad alien hitchhiker movie," wrote Aftab.

The newly engaged actress recently spoke about about her divorce to Ryan Reynolds: "I don't understand this need to 'share.' We almost exploit ourselves in order to feel seen. All of it drives me crazy," said Johansson.

She added, "Well, it wasn't that long ago. But I think I've had a fair amount of time to process the experience and be able to move forward. I continue to get to know myself better as I get older. And that helps me in my relationships."

The actress will next be seen in "Don Jon" with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Julianne Moore. She will also be seen in "The Avengers: Age of Ultron," "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "Her."
