The Plants vs. Zombies franchise has been a huge success, with the original game coming to almost every platform available, and the recently released Plants vs. Zombies 2: It's About Time a smash success for the iPhone and iPad, with the game receiving millions of downloads in the first few weeks of launch. The series also has a new spinoff in the works, called Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, which will be exclusive to the Xbox One initially before being released on the PC as well. Now, developer Popcap has revealed the game's price to Shacknews, as well as the fact that the game will solely support multiplayer gameplay.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare will be available in 2014 on the Xbox One for $39.99, with the PC and Xbox 360 version of the game being a little cheaper at $29.99. The bump up in price on the Xbox One is most likely caused by the exclusive content the game suppoesdly has on the system. The game will have frequent updates and DLC packages available, so when the game eventually launches next year it will have plenty of future content for fans to look forward to and play around with. The creative director for the game, Justin Wiebe, explained why Popcap will be looking to constantly bring content to the game:

"We definitely want to build on the game once it's launched. We're definitely taking a cue from Plants vs. Zombies 2. Using DLC and new content updates, we want to keep players engaged in the long haul."

In addition, the multiplayer modes of the game have been given a bit of a preview, with a Popcap representative telling IGN exactly how many multiplayer modes will be available at launch for the game. The game will have 24 multiplayer game modes to choose from, with an additional four online co-op game modes to choose from if players would rather play with each other rather than against other teams. In addition to these online multiplayer modes, players can play two player split-screen on the Xbox One for some local multiplayer madness. The game will also have Boss Mode, the tablet connected game mode that will have tablet players view the map from an overhead perspective as they try to defend their territory against console players.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare should be one of the potential sleeper hits for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC, and could add a new layer of fun to the series.
